Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong is keen on initiating a travel permit to allow Malaysians whom have been successfully vaccinated to travel across borders and abroad.

He has announced to bring this matter to the Foreign Ministry to allow this certification to be accepted by the other neighboring countries. He has also further stated that his Singapore counterpart is also on board with him for the implementation of the universal travel certificate initiative.

I’ve discussed this with the Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and the Health Ministry. We need a certification for those who have been vaccinated. My Singapore counterpart also contacted me and asked whether we could issue a universal certification.

In view of all the positive outcomes to this approach, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba announced that the ministry has planned and is on the outlook to provide physical documents or vaccination passports issued through their MySejahtera app for those that have been vaccinated.

This travel certificate provided to those vaccinated shall grant Malaysians the privilege of not being quarantined if they are to travel to other countries.

The minister is looking forward to revive the aviation industry in the country. The vaccination process is on going and there will be strict follow up sessions conducted requiring travelers to abide to all protocols implemented on the SOPs.

For travelers the move will be welcomed as good news after having been stuck in the country for more than a year.
