These women football players have made history and made us proud!
Seven Indian women from Penang Indian Football Association (PIFA) have broken barriers for women in football after being qualified as referees. They have successfully passed their Class 3 FAM Examination which was held during the refereeing workshop organised by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
Penang born players Mathujee Mathu, SharPriya Vanga, Eswary Muniandy, Rashitra Ganisu, Muvarassi Gunasegaran, Pavithera Trp Gopal and Tharany proved that women today can be just about anything they set their minds to.
Currently, the seven women players are preparing themselves to take charge as referees in a football tournament hosted by FAM. This team has set a new benchmark for women referees and it’s an exhilarating moment indeed!
It shows that there is real opportunity for women in Malaysia who have the passion to take charge of blowing the whistle or becoming a referee in a football team.
Team Varnam wishes them nothing but only the best in their first milestone! Way to go girls! You are all SIMPLY the BEST…
