Kolamavu Kokila helmed by debutant director Nelson and starring Nayanthara is now out in cinemas. The film centres around an innocent girl who gets tangled up in the cocaine trading industry. The film has been receiving a ton of praise, both from fans, critics and everyone involved in the industry.

It looks like even Superstar Rajinikanth himself has watched the movie and thoroughly enjoyed it. The director took to Twitter to share his excitement:

Got a surprise call. The moment when Thalaivar Rajinikanth said ‘loved it, sirichu sirichu enjoyed it’ Big moment for me and team Kolamaavu Kokila Thank you sir. Feeling motivated!

But it isn’t just Rajinikanth. Even acclaimed director Shankar, who helmed films like Sivaji: The Boss and Enthiran sang Kolamavu Kokila’s praises.

Kolamaavu Kokila- An interesting, humorous, kudumba-crime drama. Nayanthara-calm, effective n classy. Each character shines in its own way. Anirudh rocks with “Gun-in Kadhal” at the right places. Director Nelson surprises with a fresh approach. Well written and satisfying.
