Knowhere Bangsar’s Tantalizing Merdeka Menu Series; “Pizza Kantoi”

Presenting six new dishes flavour-bombed with four distinct Malaysian flavours!

We’ve gone from July to August in a flash! It is an understatement to say that the pandemic has thrown all our plans off schedule, and within the blink of an eye, here we are gearing towards our Merdeka day celebrations. Even though it is going to be more on a sombre note this year, Knowhere Bangsar decided to curate an interesting menu to tantalise our tastebuds whilst we stay at home and enjoy the month-long celebrations.

In celebration of the 64th Merdeka this year, Knowhere Bangsar is introducing the new “Pizza Kantoi” variants to their Merdeka menu which will be available from the 16th of August until the 19th of September 2021.

Knowhere Bangsar is one of the go-to places in Bangsar well known for its delish unique menu and interesting concoctions of Cocktails. It is a place where you may make new experiences, build new friendships, reminisce about places you’ve gone, and still be reminded of your roots,  incorporating global cuisine with Malaysian flavours we know and love.

This year, the Head Chef Razis Mohammad & team have designed their Merdeka menu series called “Pizza Kantoi ” – “kantoi,” being a cherished local lingos, which means “Oops… you caught us red-handed.”  As Malaysians, having such a campaign name seems very relevant and dear to our hearts and brings forth the Malaysiana essence,

Although their Pizza Kantoi series resembles pizzas, they are authentic Malaysian pies. The toppings, like pizzas, are customisable with any ingredient, creating a variety of flavours to suit your taste buds, explained the management of Knowhere Bangsar’s

From the time of our forefathers until recent Malaysia, we have gained inspiration from other countries to build ours. From the triumph of megastructures to eco-technologies, intercultural connections to innovative processes, and many more. But, we always maintain our Malaysiana uniqueness in these inspirations and that’s what makes us different as we always say – “We are Malaysians and loving it!”. Just like our pizza impostors, they are inspired by the Italians, but we make them so much better because they taste uniquely and tantalisingly Malaysian.

So, in conjunction with Malaysia’s 64th Merdeka celebration, they’ve flavour-bombed 6 new dishes with 4 distinct Malaysian flavours.

Oh So Lemak

A dish inspired by our local favourite nasi lemak, we turn the ingredients into toppings and spiced-up sauces based on flatbread. Yes, we added mozzarella cheese too!

Satay No Sorry

The most unapologetically delicious Malaysian dish of all time on a stick is now on a flatbread. Just imagine the ingredients embedded in a creamy peanut sauce base. Fuiyoh!

Salai Confirm Lomak

Step aside pepperonis, we have our own version of beef bacon paired with fresh chilli on a ‘lomak’ and mozzarella cheese based flatbread.

Huat A Prawn

Our version of buttered prawn on a flatbread is definitely going to give you prosperity… starting from your tummy. Sprinkled with golden salted yolk dust, you may not be a billionaire, but you will sure feel like one.

Jom Apam Balik

Ah, our sweet pie. With the tantalising ingredients topped on the peanut butter-based flatbread, we felt compelled to drizzle some gula Melaka on it just to drive your tastebuds crazier.

Biryani Fefeeling

Inspired by the steamy, flavourful biryani rice, we made sure this Pizza Kantoi version can carry the weight of the real stuff and even better. It’s the sensation you get with every bite. Plus, we added apple raita to it.

The combination of fresh HALAL local ingredients and popular local flavours will take you on a culinary journey that is sure to ignite your Malaysian spirit. as food has always been the uniting factor for us Malaysians especially now as we persevere through these difficult times. So peeps, this year it’s going to be “PIZZA KANTOI” for Merdeka!
