Have you ever heard the song “Azhaikiran Madhavan” from the Sri Raghavendra film? When we think of Raghavendra Swami songs, we immediately think of this iconic song sung by legendary singers KJ Yesudass and the late Malaysia Vasudevan.
This song is said to be the movie’s highlight because it is when Sri Raghavendra attains “Jeeva Samadhi” in the film. It is a gracious and divine song that conveys a profound meaning about Lord Krishna and Swami himself.
Gowri Arumugam has recreated this song with Varmman Elangkovan‘s music and Shuwehtha as its veenai player to commemorate Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy’s 350th Aradhana Mahotsava. Aradhana is the day Sri Guru Raghavendra arrived in Brindavana, and he will live for the next 700 years.
The singer said;
A cover version of Azhaikiran Madhavan was something I was waiting for this year’s Aradhana. Usually, I will sing this song as my warming-up song before my recordings. Totally unplanned and the rest is magic.
Kannan Raajamanickam plays Lord Krishna, and Vinesmaran Sivalingam plays Guru Sri Raghavendra Swamigal in the music video.
