A Malaysian teenager has been named as one of the Top 10 Young Talent MonStar Awards 2021 recipient out of 900 young talents from 20 nations across Asia who have been nominated, almost double the number of nominations from last year.
Kirtanac M Genason, a student from University of Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) has been selected for inclusion in the prestigious award ceremony which was held at TGV, KLCC last Saturday (27th November 2021).
The 4th MonStar Awards Finale was the FIRST EVER Hybrid Awards held both online and offline to discover and recognise young talents whose work, story, or talent(s) influence, innovate and inspire others and their community. The MonStar Awards Finale had comprised the announcement of the award winners, sharing session by the juries, and special performances.
Besides being involved in the education arena, the dedicated young lass has always been active and hands-on in various activities organised by universities, NGOs and community as well as outstanding leadership. Apart from the aforementioned achievements, this young lady has also gained other outstanding recognitions namely the;
- 1st Runner Up, ASEAN-Australia Youth Innovation Challenge 2020
- Champion, Accounting Competency Challenge (ACC) 2020
- Champion, Southeast Asia University Icon (SEA-U Icon) 2021
To emphasise the importance of discovering and building young talents for the nation, Malaysiakini stated that the award winners were selected after 3 months of stringent consideration on the criteria of influence, innovation and inspiration by high-profile juries, namely Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Founder and Group CEO of AirAsia, Marc Woo, Managing Director of Google Malaysia, Kristina Mand-Lakhiani of Mindvalley, Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, Chairman of Skymind Holding and Freda Liu, Lead producer and presenter of BFM 89.9.
