As Malaysian Tamil films are becoming popular, our local filmmakers are celebrating with fine champagne as their works are getting the  recognition that they truly deserve.

First of all, team Varnam wishes to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the ‘Yennul Irunthaval’ team on being shortlisted for the Kalakari Film Festival.

Kalakari Film Festival happens to be an exclusive event held in India for upcoming artists. This is the most prestigious award for the film, animation, visual effects and photography segment across the Indian sub-continent and beyond by Rishi Nikam. On an important note, for every film entry in Kalakari, 5 food packages will be delivered to the needy and 80% of its ticket sales will go to charity.

This film was previously selected for the “Festival Boca Do Inferno 2021”. Upon selection, Jay Kishen shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, stating;

Yennul Irunthaval: The Housemate, a Jaykishen film, appears to be the best local Tamil film to spook you at night. This film was written by Jaykishen himself and produced by Gayathri Kanamma. This 9-minute, 51-second short film stars Santhia Tanabalan alongside Gayathri Kannama.

This horror genre short film was well produced to perfection with eerie sound effects that will leave you feeling spooked. Never watch this movie alone, have someone by your side.

Wishing Jay Kishen and his team the very best!
