According to Asiasamachar, the Youth and Sports Minister Faizal Azumu, who officiated the event, topped it up with RM5,000 along with the cash prize of RM 1,500 which was given to Nermesh. The award was established to honour, recognise, and empower Malaysian youths to continue their volunteer activities and to commemorate International Volunteer Day.

In addition, the exceptional youth who is an avid photographer also won the Remarkable Award in the Under 20 Category of the Siena International Photography Awards 2017 held in Siena, Italy in 2017. He started participating in photography competitions and won numerous prizes at the tender age of 13.

In 2019, the young lad was given the opportunity to practice humanitarianism in a 3-month program called MyCorps by Malaysia’ Ministry of Youth & Sports. A total number of 300 applicants applied for the program and Nermesh emerged as one of the lucky applicants.

The ministry spearheaded the initiative, which was endorsed by Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman. The main goal of launching this programme is to prepare young, enthusiastic volunteers who will serve as role models and leaders in order to instill a spirit of volunteering and humanitarianism amongst Malaysian youth.

Congratulations on your mind-blowing achievement, Nermesh!
