This Indian couple’s wedding was attended by 6000 people. You have been wondering about how it is possible for a mass crowd to attend a wedding reception during this pandemic. You know what, it is possible if it’s in a virtual world.
It may sound like a sci-fi movie scene but it really happened for real in India.
This wedding is being billed as Asia’s first Metaverse wedding reception.

Dinesh Sivakumar Padmavathi and Janaganandhini Ramaswamy, recently married and held a reception in the metaverse that was attended by over 6,000 people from all around the world on 6th February.
In the midst of the pandemic, this couple from Tamil Nadu, India, chose to tie the knot in a distinct way by incorporating their wizardly liking with a Hogwarts-themed Metaverse wedding reception.
I feel so proud and blessed that I have seen and taken advantage of many great opportunities in this world before millions of people have seen them, Beginning of something big! The newlyweds digitally greeted their guests during the one-hour event, which let them explore the castle and modify their avatars’ look and attire.
Their wedding celebration was themed after Hogwarts and other Harry Potter elements, as they are both Potterheads.
To make this happen, they collaborated with a company called TardiVerse. Mad kudos to Dinesh’s inventiveness and the technological prowess of Vignesh Selvaraj (CEO, TardiVerse) and his crew.
A 12-member crew worked for a month in making this Metaverse reception a virtual reality for a first-of-its-kind wedding reception.
During the virtual event, the bride’s late father was a guest of honour, which was quite fascinating.
Dinesh’s father in law passed away last year, he decided to create the 3D avatar of him in hopes that he will bless him and his fiancee. The appearance was made possible by metaverse.
Isn’t everything possible in the virtual world?
