Vettai (The Hunt), one of the best Singapore Tamil drama series that garnered many fans during season 1 is back with a bang with its fifth season.
Due to its unique theme song, the drama series gained huge popularity that really drove it over the edge. Rather than acting as a filler for the show’s introduction, the track shook up the local soundtrack industry as well as the Tamil TV industry.
Audiences couldn’t get enough of the track after it became a hit in Singapore and over the causeway JB!
Alongside Shabir, there were two artistes who lent their voices to the song. Eugenia Yip from the Singaporean jazz-funk band, ‘The Steve McQueens’ with her haunting and ethereal vocals. After transitioning to a heart-thumping EDM beat, Yogi B, the godfather of Tamil rap, comes in with his explosive lyrics to showcase his mastery of cadence and flow.
What amazes us more?
This is the FIFTH AND FINAL season where Shabir will be working on the soundtrack for the Vettai franchise. Although he worked on the first 4 songs on his own, this time he is not alone. Buvan, the 25-year-old producer was just about 10 years old when he first listened to the first soundtrack during its release.
As a huge fan of the soundtrack and the series, he had to calm his nerves and deliver his best for the theme song; knowing that the series has a huge fan base and that the responsibility to satisfy everybody’s expectations rests on his shoulders too.
