We’ve some exciting news for all the upcoming filmmakers out there! A brand new short film competition is coming to the town.
Billed it as Ulagam Short Film Contest, all Malaysians are invited to participate in the most anticipated contest which starts from now till 31 July 2022. In return you’ll have a chance to take home up to RM10K cash prizes and the opportunity to produce a telemovie for Astro Vaanavil in 2023!

The following are the requirements for contestants to take part:
- Create an original 20-minute Deepavali themed short film and film poster, in any Indian language.
- Complete the contest entry form and submit their short film and poster via astroulagam.com.my/shortfilmcontest.
Winners of the competition will be selected based on Originality, Creativity, Acting, Cinematography, Editing, Script and Screenplay by a panel of judges.
It’s going to be a wonderful spinoff, and we’re helping you keep track of what’s worth getting excited for. These are the rewards awaits you!
