A quick quiz, can you now list the names of the flags shown above? I’m pretty sure that only 2 out of 10 people guess all correctly and the others will most likely be referring to your best friend aka ‘Google’.

But Anjanaa Rhea Ganeson is the only exemption, she is none like us. This little prodigy can effortlessly name as many country flags as she can without the need of any gadgets.

The incredible talent earned this eight-year-old brainiac two world records, they are the Kids World Record (3rd January 2022), as well as the Jackhi Book of World Records (30th March 2022) for identifying 230 country flags in just 4 minutes and 38 seconds.

With this double distinguished feat, Anjanaa expressed that she is thrilled and honoured especially for obtaining two recognitions and this will certainly encourage her to do more and better in the future.

“I used to travel a lot with my family and from there I got an interest in learning more about the flags of the states and countries that I went to,” she told Varnam MY, this was the time at which she felt driven to learn more about flags of different countries.

“I am really attracted by the colours and the symbols of each flag. That inspired me to learn and get to know all the countries in the world,” Anjanaa noted.

Anjanaa who is currently studying at Sekolah Kebangsaan Seri Selangor explained it takes a firm discipline and tons of practice for her to be able to recite the flag’s name correctly.

Furthermore, Anjanaa took this pandemic phase by challenging herself to learn more about flags. Every night, there’s this routine where before she goes to bed her family will quiz her about flags and she remarked that it works for her.

“I’m not memorising it but I randomly can name all the flags and even after 2 years I still can remember it,” Anjanaa who is able to recite 195 flags with the capitals since the age of 6 said.

The young lass who aims to be a veterinary doctor in the future is now gearing up to stamp her name in the Malaysia Book of Records as well as for a world record.

Shiyamala Jaggaroo, Anjanna’s mother expressed  “We are proud of our daughter’s great double accomplishment.”

“Don’t ever try to force them, let them shine by themselves. And don’t forget to treat them kindly as a child as childhood times only comes once,” the humble lady remarked and hopes that other parents out there will assist to discover their kid’s hidden talent and encourage them to strive in their respective field of interest.
