Simran, who is also a trained Bharatnatyam and Salsa dancer, moved over to reality TV shows such as Jaya TV’s Jackpot and Zee’s Dance Tamizha Dance, when movie offers were becoming scarce.

Now, Simran is set to return to world of films with a bang. The actress who credits diet, yoga and fitness for her recent body transformation, says that Petta has brought her career back on track.

Simran reveals in an interview with The Hindu that she was so starstruck by Superstar Rajinikanth that she was afraid that she couldn’t remember her lines in front of the camera. Though the actress admits that women have it harder in the film industry, she believes that having a strong work-life balance will enable her to have the best of both worlds.

The director of Petta, Karthik Subbaraj, said that the on-screen chemistry and performance of Rajini and Simran is something not to be missed. The Rajini-Simran pairing was meant to happen in Chandhramukhi, however, Simran had to let the offer go as she found out that she was pregnant.
