Malaysia is known as the spice haven. Almost all of our cuisines are infused with the aroma of spice. It ranges from ginger which provides warmth to the body, to the benefits of cardamom which is not only good for physical health but also provides a soothing therapeutic content. You can taste the benefits of ginger, cardamom, and several other spices blended in a typical drink in South Asia.

This combination of black tea and spice is known as masala chai or spice tea. This masala chai was introduced by the Indian community in the 1960’s, when black tea leaves became a very expensive commodity. Many street tea vendors combine milk, sugar, and spices in making flavor-rich drinks with low capital.

By combining five spices as the main ingredients such as ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and black pepper mixed with black tea, masala chai become a tea rich in nutrients and beneficial for one’s physical and mental health.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DRINKING MASALA CHAI? 🤔

Helps The Body’s Digestive System

Masala chai contains ginger which is known to reduce and even eliminate nausea. In the study, consuming 1 to 1.5 grams of ginger daily can reduce nausea symptoms in pregnant women.

When drinking one cup of this tea, you have consumed the needs of ginger in one day. In addition, some research have also found that other spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper, and cloves choose high antioxidant content.

Maintain Dental Health

Food stored between the teeth will become dental plaque and be one of the causes of damage. However, the content of one of the spices in masala chai, cloves, has a useful content to relieve inflammation in the teeth as well as reduce the level of sensitivity in the teeth.

Consumption of tea can also reduce bacteria in the mouth and dental plaque. Although it does not cure, you can prevent tooth decay by consuming masala chai, plus the reduction of bacteria in the mouth.

Helps The Absorption Of Nutrients

Black pepper not only adds a spicy sensation in this tea, but black pepper contains a bioactive substance called piperine which serves to stimulate the digestive tract to absorb nutrients faster.
