Actor Simbu released a video a few days ago, pleading with his fans not to waste resources on celebratory cut outs prior to the release of his next film, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven. He has now made a contradictory statement, telling his fans to celebrate the release of the film like never before.
This strange turn of events is attributed to people commenting that the actor does not have a fan base at all. “People have been commenting, why is this guy saying this when he only has 2 or 3 fans?” said the actor in the video.
Simbu goes on to tell his fans to perform paal abishegams (milk baths) for his cut outs, not with milk packets, but from large containers. The actor said that Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven should be welcomed with as much hype as possible.
This may be a silly move on the actor’s part, as he had received commendations from fans and non fans alike for wanting an end to the ritual of wasting milk on a 30 foot cut out of actors before the release of their films.
The video was posted on the profile of Riaz K Ahmed, famed public relations executive to stars like Rajinikanth and Vijay, and possibly Simbu.

Both videos could have been planned prior, just to create the hype for Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven. Simbu’s acting career has not been doing well, and it saw him play second fiddle to Arvind Swami and Arun Vijay in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Perhaps Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven needed some form of publicity like this.
Sadly, with this video, Simbu has certainly made a fool of his fans and himself.
