Tan Sri Tatparanandam Ananda Krishnan (5th Rank)
Ananda Krishnan holds the 5th rank with a net worth of $5 billion.
The 84-year-old former oil trader remains one of Malaysia’s wealthiest businessmen through his private vehicle Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd, which owns many major companies in the country as well as globally. His holdings include stakes in telecom outfit Maxis, media firm Astro Malaysia Holdings and oilfield services provider Bumi Armada.
Tan Sri Datuk G Gnanalingam (13th Rank)
G Gnanalingam holds the 13th rank with a net worth of $1.55 billion.
The executive chairman of Westports Holdings Bhd , G. Gnanalingam is also known as the country’s first homegrown marketing guru for steering his company to become Asia’s leading cargo and freight player. Co-founded with Ahmayuddin bin Ahmad on securing the concession in 1994, the group owns a 60-year concession to operate and expand its container terminals in Pulau Indah and Port Klang, which will end in 2054. Westports is one of three main port operators in the Strait of Malacca. His son, Ruben Emir Gnanalingam, is Westports’ group managing director. He is also known as the country’s first homegrown marketing guru for steering his company to become Asia’s leading cargo and freight player.
Tan Sri Dr Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin (20th Rank)
Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin holds the 20th rank with a net worth of $960 million.
Ninian Mogan Lourdenadin owns and runs MBf Holdings where its operations span eight countries, nine industries and more than 30 companies. MBf Holdings has interests in everything from automobile dealerships to property development. The medical doctor cum property developer, Mogan runs one of the largest trading companies in the South Pacific. The bulk of his wealth comes from land holdings across Fiji, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea and the U.S.
