On 19th July 2022, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin took to Dewan Rakyat by stating that adults aged 50 to 59 can now receive their second Covid-19 vaccination booster shot.
Who should consider taking the second booster jabs?
Those who are aged 60 and above with comorbidities, those aged 60 and above without comorbidities, individuals living at long-term care facilities, individuals aged 18 to 59 with comorbidities, frontliners, and travellers going abroad were allowed to get their second booster jab.
Bear in mind that only Pfizer vaccines are available at the moment.
For those who are eligible for a second Covid-19 booster dose, they can book their appointments via the MySejahtera application. In a Facebook post, MySejahtera noted that those who qualify can now use the app to schedule an appointment for the second booster dose.
Eligible individuals must update their MySejahtera application to the most recent version, version 2.0.3, and update their information, such as date of birth, before they may access the booking link.
“After that, open the Covid-19 vaccination page to view the second booster dose booking link,” it said in the post.
A total number of 16,173,085 individuals have received their first booster and 268,777 have received their second booster, the Ministry’s official website reported.
