Prof Dr. Ramesh Soars To Greater Heights, Emerging As Recipient Of ASEAN India S&T Development Fund

Prof Dr. Ramesh has made the nation proud by being shortlisted as the recipient of the ASEAN India S&T Development Fund (AISTDF). Being well-known for his outstanding scholastic contribution to solutions for energy storage and harvesting devices for the clean energy of tomorrow, the brainchild behind the Science field is going places. 

The ASEAN-India Science and Technology Development Fund (AISTDF) was established to strengthen diplomatic relations to enhance scientific, educational, and technological cooperation between India and ASEAN countries. Besides that, it also helps to enhance academic training and development for young scholars. 

Prof Dr. S. Ramesh is a well-recognised figure in his field, internationally and locally, by receiving numerous international and national awards to date. Perhaps, he was selected as a “TWAS Young Affiliate Fellow” in 2009 by The World Academy of Sciences – one of the five from the South & Southeast Asia and Pacific region. 

According to UM Expert, he was recognised and secured the place of World’s Top 2% Scientists for Career-Long Citation Impact by Stanford University in 2020. Following that, he was awarded IAS Distinguished Fellowship 2022 by the Institute of Advanced Study (IAS), Durham University, UK. His major contribution to society is through his service and knowledge as a scholar of the ASM, RSC, GYA, and TWAS. He has contributed to the “Science 4 Youth” and “Global State of Young Scientists” Programmes which focus on the development of science and technology among the youth of this world and to study the problems faced by mainly 3rd World countries on this issue.

Meanwhile, Dr Ramesh was honored with the prestigious “International Association of Advanced Materials Scientist Medal” (IAAM Scientist medal) in 2016. He received the prestigious award due to his notable and outstanding contribution to the field of “Advanced Materials Science and Technology”.

Congratulations once again and thank you for being an inspiration to budding young scientists who have a passion in the Science field, Dr Ramesh!
