The most awaited first Tamil standup comedy show in Kuala Lumpur was a massive success.

Epic Hub, committed to bringing the best entertainment, showcased one of the finest standup comedians Jagan Krishnan, with a show aptly titled Comedy Remedy – Jagan Krishnan Live in Malaysia which took place last Saturday – 30th July at Dewan Sivik, PJ.

Undoubtedly, the objective was served by the presentation that promised to make the audience laugh out loud with his fantastic collection of jokes and funniest act. It was a terrific laugh-out-loud show with a generous amount of music and narration along with a dash of conventional observational humour!

Throughout the show, you can’t help but laugh and want to hear what comes next.

Opening Act

When everyone was eagerly awaiting for the show to begin, Hindra Bose who is also fondly known as MamaJammaPuma jumped onto the stage and kicked off with some humorous sitcom featuring the favourite topic of fans; 90s kids and 2k kids. Not only that, Hindra made the audience crack with his ‘Malaysian Wedding Alaiparaigal’. Damn, it was hilarious.

Have you ever wondered why photographers capture the moment when you’re about to eat? Well, he gave an explanation for it that no one has thought about it before. With a quarter-hour given to him, Hindra successfully warmed up the audience with full-on-full oomph with his witty contents and stage presence. It was a fantastic opening.

The Wait Is Over!

The moment finally arrived. With the Nerrupu Daa entry, the sharp-witted comedian, Jagan Krishnan leaped onto the stage greeting the Malaysian audience with full enthusiasm.

The brilliant comedian picked up the pinch from the audience spontaneously making it into a sitcom which absolutely made the crowd crack on their seats while watching him.

Following that, the honest-to-goodness standup comedian talked about the ‘Music Fans Alaiparaigal’ from Ilayaraja’s fans to AR Rahman’s fans where he tore the stage accompanied by full witty chatters with the audience, where a portion of his jokes is nonetheless a part of our daily conversation with family and friends.

What is watching Jagan’s show without his musical act, right? He sang his own version of Neela Vaanam Odaiyil, Poovoma Oorgolam, Porale Ponnuthayi and Dippam Dappam comprising his humorous skit.

The other crowd puller topic that he presented was based on unjustifiable TV advertisements, teenage love while also talking about how he tried to tackle his crush ‘Aparna’ and even made a song for her inspired by our Legend Yogi B called ‘Vaadi’.

Brimming with full spirit, this man pumped up the audience with his own love story and parenting hassle. He shared how he met the love of his life who is now his wife and also his encounter with his father-in-law during the time he and his wife were caught being in a relationship with the help of a unique messaging tool.

The next topic that he narrates was the most relevant topic that many parents may have felt during the pandemic, ‘Entertaining the Kids’. Yes, the most difficult task for parents during the pandemic phase were to keep their children entertained. But Jagan expressed all the hassle he went through comically with a bit of a musical skit. He flaunts Tata Tata Tai kid’s rhymes that he created in reggae version, the same manner in which he applied when entertaining his kids.

Sea of Flashlights

Who said, for a stand-up show, we can’t witness a ‘Flashlight wave’? (hahaha, literally no one, I know) The show ended beautifully with the sea of flashlight chaperoning Jagan’s most awaited Harris Jayaraj hits.

Indeed a great Laugh-Out-Saturday-Night.

The 2-hour long show was filled with humorous felicity. Kudos to the entire crew of Epic Hub for all of their efforts leading up to this event. We are excited to see what they have in store in the forthcoming days.
