How many of you are aware of Kathak, a type of Indian classical dance?

Kathak is one of the main genres of ancient Indian classical dance and it is performed in the form of storytelling through the body movements used by the dancer. Kathak is often referred to as the dance of love.

Bringing back a strand of the ancient dance art, TFA Inner Space Dance will be presenting an exquisite Kathak rendition that will take place in October.

Touted as Sadhana – The Grace Through Kathak will be performed solely by Rohini Shetty on 13th and 14th October 2022.

The 2-day exquisite rendition will be held at Shantanand Auditorium, The Temple of Fine Arts, Kuala Lumpur at 8pm. This solo dance performance will also be accompanied by dynamic live music.

In that regard, TFA Inner Space Dance warmly welcomes everyone to join and watch Rohini’s alluring performance.

TFA Inner Space Dance Company (IDC) is a performing wing of The Temple of Fine Arts (TFA). IDC aims to carry out the vision of Swami Shantanand, the founder, who embraced all art forms and advocated the concept “Art Just For The Love Of It”.

An evolution from the school aspect of TFA, which was incepted 37 years ago, IDC offers the opportunity for individuals who so choose to pursue the arts as a career, dance being the primary focus. In essence, IDC is a group dedicated to the core functions of practicing, learning, creative choreography and performing. The disciplined practice of the art, enables a quest toward perfection and the exploration of new ideas and new disciplines, hence creating new works, items and repertoires with fundamental qualities.
