Basking in the success of the recent trailer and audio launch event of Mani Ratnam’s directorial Ponniyin Selvan, there’s no doubt that it has created a great deal of buzz around social media platforms.

With that being said, Mozart of Madras AR Rahman, a name that needs no introduction has once again brought us back the enthusiastic soundtrack by signing in as the music director in the magnum opus flick. From Ponni Nadhi, Chola Chola, Ratchasa Maamaney to Alaikadal, nostalgia strikes the audience among these music-induced emotions.

What has amazed us right now is among the new releases, ‘Raatchasa Maamaney’ which has literally reminded us of ‘Minsara Kanna’ from Padayappa as AR Rahman has scored the music for the film as well. What an energy, even the writer feels goosebumps!

Shreya Ghosal added her magical voice along with A. R. Rahman, Palakad Sreeram, and Mahesh Vinayakram. You will not need any essential oils to rescue you from any blues if you have PS-1 songs in your playlist.

Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman are arguably the greatest director-composer duo and it marks thirty years of their combination since Roja (1992). We can safely say that Ponniyin Selvan is one more to add to the list.

Touted to be a historical epic, the movie will be shot and divided into two parts (shot simultaneously). The film features Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Vikram Prabhu, and many more in the list.

PS-1 is slated to reach the audience in cinema halls on the 30th of September this year and it will be released in five languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
