Associate Professor Dr Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan Bestowed With Gold Medal For Innovation In Counselling

It’s just astounding to see how our women are excelling in the educational sphere. Recently, Associate Professor Dr Anasuya Jegathevi Jegathesan, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology and Social Sciences at the University of Cyberjaya, received a prestigious Gold Medal for Innovation in Counselling.

Dr Anasuya clinched this incredible feat at the International Counselling Innovation and Showcase (i-COUNNOVAS 3.0) in conjunction with the International Counselling Convention 2022.

, the International Counselling Innovation and Showcase (i-COUNNOVAS), this event it provides a great opportunity to educators, students and practitioners to exhibit research, creation and innovations in helping process globally in the new norms.

In 2007, Dr Anasuya received her Research Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of South Australia and has since been active in the academic line dedicated to counselling and psychology.

The Doctorate in Counselling holder, Dr Anasuya has also worked at HELP University and Taylor’s University in leading various undergraduate and postgraduate psychology and counselling programmes.

After her stint as an Associate Professor at HELP University for almost a decade, Dr. Anasuya went on to become the Psychology Programme Director at Taylor’s University.

Following that, in 2020, she became the Director for the Centre for Human Excellence and Development as well as the Programme Director for the University’s Master of Counselling Psychology.

In 2021, the psychology prowess becomes one of the 13 recipients of the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) for her project titled “Developing a Lie Detection Model for Machine Learning Among Young Adults in Malaysia.”
