Tollywood hit film ‘RRR’ which bombed both the Indian and International box office marks an amazing milestone journey for the director, SS Rajamouli.
In the recent New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) annual awards, the top 10 best 2022 films were nominated. It was a pleasant surprise that RRR made it to the National Board of Review (NBR) for the best films in 2022. According to IMDb, S.S Rajamouli won the Best Director Award from NYFCC for his epic adventure film ‘RRR’.
The recent win by Rajamouli for Best Director at the NY Film Critic Awards has given a big momentum for the Oscar push!
Rajamouli might make history by becoming the first Indian to be nominated for the Best Director category at the Oscars. The Golden Globes will announce their nominations today (December 12). The American media company Variety, has predicted that ‘RRR’ will score three positions in the nomination list for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
Celebrating Rajamouli’s victory, a few film industry members took to Twitter. Cast members Oliva Morris and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. were the first to congratulate, along with other prominent directors, actors, and film critics.
