While the world celebrates Argentina’s FIFA victory, India makes its way too and rejoices in the win of the Mrs world 2022.
Annually held pageant ceremony, this year on the 17 December 2022 at Las Vegas, announced and crowned Sargam Koushal as the Mrs World 2022. Sargam represented India at the Mrs World 2022 bringing home pride and the crown after 21 years. The last Indian winner of the title was crowned in 2001 and is known as an actress, model, and physician, Aditi Govitrikar.
The annual pageant, which has been around since 1984 is one of the largest marital pageants in the world, with directors in about 80 countries. As per statistics, America has the most number of winners. This year, the event had participants from over 63 countries. The 32-year-old dolled in a stunning shimmering pink gown with embroidery work and sequins stole the spotlight among the other contestants from 63 countries.
Celebrating this moment, The Mrs world 2022 brought this to her Instagram feed and wrote, “The long wait is over, it’s after 21 years we have the CROWN back!”

According to the Hindustan times, Sargam’s father GS Koushal during an interview said Sargam’s journey has been full of hard work and dedication. It has always been her dream since childhood but she seemed to have some hesitations at first. After her marriage, her husband and every one of her family encouraged her to participate and were confident that she would definitely get this crown back to India. Just as said, she proved it right and brought the crown home.
“Sargam loved to play dressing up when she was little. We had spotted her talent early on,” said Sargam’s mother Meena Koushal in an interview.
Glimpse about Sargam Koushal
Sargam Koushal hails from Jammu and is a postgraduate in English literature. She did her schooling at Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, and completed her Masters in English Literature from Jammu university. She also did her BEd from Government BEd College Jammu. She is the daughter of retired Chief Manager, the Bank of India GS Kaushal and Reema Khajuria, and has a brother Manthan Koushal who is 7 years younger than her.
Sargam who started out as a teacher soon decided to join the diva world as a model. The beauty with the brains is a painter and a content writer too. Sargam tied the knot with Aditya Manohar Sharma, an Indian naval officer in 2018.
While Sargam started her career as a teacher, she decided to pursue her dream and started taking part in beauty pageants. Even with commitments and a huge role as a wife and teacher, Sargam has proved that with confidence and dedication anyone can make it to their dreams.
