Today, April 14, marks the birth of the Tamil New Year, held on the first day of Chittirai. It is significant that we celebrate this occasion on this auspicious day, which is marked by the belief that Lord Indra comes to Earth on this day, gives the day an enormous amount of spiritual significance.

Here are the important things that you should know:-

Friday 14 April 2023 at 4.33pm

[Auspicious time]

Friday 14 April 2023 from 12.33pm till 8.33pm

[Colour for The Year]

Beige (Cream)

In conjunction with the birth of the Tamil New Year, helmed by Malaysian Ceylon Saivites Association, a Sobakiruthu Special Abishegam and Pooja will be held at Sri Kandaswamy Temple, Jalan Scott, Kuala Lumpur.

These are the programmes that will be conducted:

[14 April 2023 – Friday]

2pm: Obeisance to Lord Vinayagar, Punniyaaha Vaasanam, Kumba Pooja, Homam, Thiraviya
Abishegam, Poornaahuthi, Snabana Abishegam.

4.33pm: New Year Special Pooja, reading of the New Panjaangam (Almanac) regarding the forecast for the year and blessings by the Chief Priest of the Temple. New Year Greetings by the Temple President followed by the distribution of Pirasaadham

[15 April 2023 – Saturday]

7am: Morning Pooja

7.30am: Sooriya Ponggal, Aadhithya Pooja followed by the distribution of Pirasaadham

Having that said, all devotees are welcome to join the ceremonies and obtain the blessings of Lord Sri Sakthivel Perumaan. ✨
