General Dato’ Seri Mohammad bin Ab Rahman, the Chief of Army, has completed the Army Senior Officer Rank Appropriation Council, which was held at the Wisma Perwira Tentera Darat, Camp Perdana Sungai Besi.
Beginning with Brigadier General’s promotion to Major General, a total of 47 senior Army officers have received promotions. As of April 3, 2023, Brigadier General Dato’ Md Rahim bin Mohammad and Brigadier General Haji Azelan bin Abu Bakar were promoted to the rank of Major General.
Additionally, 40 people were promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel; three senior officers were promoted from Kolonel to Brigadier General; and one Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel.
In that list, our Indian ambassador and concerned graduate, Dr. Sivananthan Asokumar, was promoted from Major to Lieutenant Colonel (Lt. Col.) by the Malaysian Armed Forces. A truly proud moment for us all.
Additionally, Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Professor Fng Ah Seng received honorary colonel credentials. In addition, the Honorary Major Award was also given to three recipients.
In his speech, the Chief of Army thanked all of the senior officers who received promotions.
