Many Kamal and Shankar fans are eagerly waiting on updates for the much anticipated film Indian 2. The famed actress Kajal Aggarwal, who has worked on blockbuster hit films Thuppakki and Mersal, is signed to work on this sensational sequel to Shankar’s Indian 1, which was a phenomenal hit in 1996. Kajal Aggarwal has stated that the film is not like any typical film and has something entirely new to offer on a cinematic scale. The famed star also shares that her role in particular is a very exciting one, making fans speculate that she could be playing a bold female role in this film.
“I cannot reveal much about the film, the team will kill me if I do. But let me say that it is going to be a very different experience. I am not saying this just like that, I am saying it genuinely.”

The film’s music will be scored by Anirudh, who has previously worked with Kamal Hassan on the mega blockbuster hit film Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Anirudh has also produced music for the upcoming Thalapathy Vijay film Leo, which is set to release its title track on June 22. Indian 2 will also feature phenomenal actors such as Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Delhi Ganesh, and Bobby Simha. The film is set to wrap up its shooting by the end of this month and is expected to be released in Pongal 2024. Shankar himself has recently wrapped up the shooting for his Telugu film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and Kiara Advani; this leaves him more room to be entirely invested in completing Indian 2.
