TAFE College, an institute in Seremban established for the education and development of Indian and non-Indian Malaysian students, has recently held its 25th Convocation Ceremony. This college offers students the opportunity to receive certificate education and gain technical skills in aircraft technology, automotive engineering, electro-mechanical technology, civil engineering, and more.

The Chief Process Officer of TAFE College, Tan Sri Dr. D. Marimuthu, expressed his outmost appreciation with the number of graduates that the institute has produced. Along with that, he was also happy to witness the vast number of people who came out in support of them during the ceremony.

200 students were awarded their degrees. Moreover, along with their parents and the other guests, over 1000 people attended this event. I am very proud of the number of attendees that came to participate in this ceremony.

Senator Dato Nelson Renganathan, Head of MIC’s Education Committee, had also informed Bernama that the college is planning to introduce new cutting-edge technical programmes to the academic curriculum.

We are planning to introduce new programmes to the institute, such as an electrical vehicle maintenance programme, drone technology, and solar technology. We encourage those who have graduated from secondary school to keep their eyes peeled for these new opportunities we have prepared for them. We will surely give them the chance to study at our institute.

TAFE College was founded by the Maju Institute of Educational Development (MIED). The project was spearheaded by former MIC President Sami Velu, who aimed to provide educational aid to the Indian community. The college itself was founded as a way to make technical education more affordable to the vastly working-class Indian community. Along with creating more affordable higher education, the Maju Institute of Educational Development aimed for these graduates to devote themselves to the development of their nation.
