M. Divyaa, 16, and N. Natshatra, 15, who were reportedly missing since last night have been found.

As of press time, Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the girls were being interviewed by police. “We will send them for a medical evaluation after we finish taking their statements. We will know more once we have spoken to them,” said Mohd Zani.

The two girls were reported to be last seen at Maxwell Tower Condo, Jalan Gasing Indah, at around 11.40pm on Sunday, the 14th of April. Divyaa’s mother, T. Shanthi said that the two are school friends who had gone to a nearby temple for the Tamil New Year prayers.

“Divyaa then spent some time in Natshatra’s home, which is 10 minutes from our house. At around 11pm, she texted me saying that she will be taking a Grab home,” said the mother.

A Grab spokesman had said that from the company’s records, the passenger cancelled the ride, so the driver proceeded to pick up another passenger.

It is currently not known where the girls were during the time that elapsed since they were last seen. Whatsapp groups around the country have been inundated with the alert and image of the two missing girls since early this morning.

More to come.
