‘Leo’ is actor Vijay’s upcoming movie. It is one of the much anticipated movie of the year. Vijay, a prominent Indian actor, has carved a special place in the hearts of millions with his exceptional talent and charisma. He made his acting debut in 1992 and has since become a beloved figure in the Indian film industry.

Vijay’s recent movie was ‘Varisu’ which came out this year January 2023. The movie was a “Ponggal” feast for Thalapathy fans. It received massive celebration and it was a blockbuster hit. Now, the fans are eagerly waiting for his next theatrical release ‘Leo’. Being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj the movie sets the bar high among Kollywood fans.
‘Naa Ready‘, the first single of the movie was launched recently and it pulled the crowd’s attention. It was a sensational song which took over the social media. It has been ruling our playlists in recent times. But, latest update says that some of the lyrics from the song might be replaced. Notably, the song was facing controversies since its release.
Critics have raised concerns about the song, claiming that certain lyrics within it appear to endorse and celebrate the consumption of alcohol, smoking, and illicit substances. Additionally, there have been requests to remove the close-up shots featuring the main actor engaging in smoking from the song’s visuals.
Following a complaint lodged by politician Rajeswari Priya, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued a directive to the creators of the content, mandating alterations to the song’s lyrics and the substitution of particular visuals. An image of the CBFC certificate containing details regarding the objectionable lyrics slated for removal has surfaced on the internet.
The team has reportedly taken action to replace the following lines from the song’s lyrics:
‘Pathaathu Bottle Naa kudike,’ ‘Andava Konda Cheers Adika,’ ‘Pathavachu Pogaiye Utta poweru Kicku,’ ‘Pogaiyala Pogaiyala Power Kikku,’ and the verses that go, ‘Milli Ulla Pona Pothum Ghilli vella Varuvanda.’
Significantly, the CBFC has mandated the replacement of scenes featuring the actor smoking, particularly those that involve close-up shots.
When questioned for a statement, the executive producer of the film, Ramkumar, declined to provide a comment, stating, “I am not authorized to respond to this matter.”
This isn’t the first instance where the song has garnered negative attention. A few months back, there was a police complaint lodged against Vijay, accusing him of promoting drug use through the song. In response to this, the team had included disclaimers on the song’s YouTube page. Since the release date of the movie is nearing, we can expect further updates from the movie makers.
