The Eye: Shruti Haasan’s Hollywood Debut Film

The Eye is the latest yet-to-be-released Hollywood film from director Daphne Schmon, starring Mark Rowley, alongside South Indian actress Shruti Haasan, who is making her Hollywood Debut. The film has been completed and is expected to be screened at the Greek International Film Festival. Shruti happily expressed her excitement at the film’s nominations in many different categories. The efforts of the cast and crew to minimize the impact on the environment during filming were also mentioned by the actress.

Screenplay by Emily Carlton, the film is presented as a dark psychological thriller. The story revolves around a young widow who returns to the island where her husband died to scatter his ashes. When she learns the true nature of what may have cost him his life, she is tempted by a dark choice that could bring him back to life. Sharing the poster of the film, Shruti said:

THE EYE Sometimes you get to be a part of something magical, emotional and truthful – this was that special movie for me – I can’t wait for all of you to see it.

The Eye was has been nominated for best director @daphneschmon and best dop @jameschegwyn at Greek international film screenings – nominated for best film at the London independent film festival.

The Eye was filmed in corfu and made with love and care for the environment as well, the entire cast and crew worked toward reducing the environmental and carbon impact using green shoots sustainability platform.

The actress first became known through her father, legendary actor Ulaga Nayagan Kamal Haasan. However, instead of using her father’s influence to further her career, Shruti always preferred to manage her career independently and showed notable acting her films. With this, she has built her own image through her own success.
