Rajinikanth is currently progressing with the shoot for “Thalaivar 170” directed by TJ Gnanavel. The shoot for the film had started two weeks ago. TJ Gnanavel is known for his pervious direction “Jai Bhim’ which was well received among audience.
After the historical success of “Jailer”, Thalaivar 170 which has just gone on floors also becomes the much anticipated film of Rajinikanth. The Superstar is set to collaborate with Lokesh Kanagaraj for “Thalaivar 171”. Notably, Lokesh Kanagaraj’s “Leo” has been released today, 19th October 2023. It was one of the much awaited film starring Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarjaa, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand in lead roles.
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s direction showcases a unique blend of storytelling and visual flair. His films are marked by sharp narratives, intense characters, and a distinct style, earning him critical acclaim. He has the ability to connection among his movies which is best known with the term “Lokesh Cinematic Universe(LCU)”. All his movies were blockbuster hits. Meanwhile, Lokesh has announced that the shooting for “Thalaivar 171” is scheduled to commence in March 2024.
Amidst the fans’ anticipation about whether the movie will be integrated into his LCU or remain standalone, the renowned director has explicitly confirmed that it will indeed be a standalone film.

With over four months remaining until the commencement of the film’s shooting, it appears that fans will need to wait when it comes to receiving any fresh information about the movie’s cast and crew, beyond what has already been disclosed. Intriguingly, Lokesh has disclosed that the script for this film was penned several years ago, during the interim period between his debut film “Maanagaram” and his second venture, “Kaithi.” Notably, this second project began almost three years after the release of his first film.
This fact increases the anticipation for the film. It also build questions like if the script will be exactly the same or there will some modifications since he wrote that long time ago. Let’s wait for further announcements!
