Director Shankar celebrated his 25 years in cinema. The surprise party was hosted by Mysskin and was attended by several top directors such as Maniratnam, Gautham Menon, Pa Ranjith, Jayam Raja, Sasi and Lingusamy among others.

All the directors colour coordinated! Director Shankar looks so happy!

Shankar is known for his taste in expensive filmmaking. His films have high-end CGI in most of his films. He made his directorial debut with Gentleman in 1993.

When Shankar made Anniyan in 2005, it became the costliest film to have been made in India at that time. He then went on to make Sivaji in 2007 and later with Enthiran in 2010. His latest release was 2.0, the second installment in the Enthiran franchise.

Shankar is currently on the verge of commencing the shooting of Indian 2, sequel of his blockbuster Indian.

Congratulations to Director Shankar for completing his 25 years of Indian Cinema. May he continue to make films with a very futuristic perspective.
