Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad(KTMB) recently announced extra Electric Train Service (ETS) journeys between Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) station and Padang Besar, coinciding with the Deepavali celebrations. Starting today, the additional train service will be in operation until November 13th, offering extended travel opportunities.
Tickets are available for purchase throughout this period, and sales are ongoing. As of November 1st, KTMB has provided the latest update on ticket availability. An extra 630 seats have been introduced daily, contributing to a total of 3,150 available seats.
KTMB consistently provides such promotions during every festive season in Malaysia, showcasing a commendable effort and concern for the diverse religious celebrations in the country. This thoughtful initiative is widely appreciated by all Malaysians, who are grateful for the accessibility and convenience it brings.
The provision of such facilities reflects a commitment to inclusivity and consideration for the cultural and religious diversity within the nation, fostering a sense of unity and shared celebration among the people.
“The additional ETS trips are to cater to the high demand for train tickets during festive seasons. The country’s major highways are also expected to see a high volume of traffic compared to normal days”, said KTMB.
Departing from Padang Besar at 11 am, the train is scheduled to reach KL Sentral by 4:36 pm. Conversely, the train originating from KL Sentral will leave at 5:05 pm, reaching Padang Besar by 10:34 pm. A significant number of individuals aspire to reunite with their families and loved ones in their hometowns for Deepavali celebrations. This holds particularly true for students and working professionals residing at a distance, for whom this service proves invaluable.
Opting for this facility eliminates the need for personal vehicular travel, offering a cost-effective and stress-free alternative. Not only does it contribute to savings, but it also provides a more relaxed journey, sparing travelers from the hassles of traffic congestion. This thoughtful provision by KTMB not only facilitates familial connections during the festive season but also eases the logistical challenges faced by those separated by distance.
