Gomathi Bathumalai Wins Gold Medal At 2023 International Education Innovation Fair

The International Education Innovation Fair 2023 at Sultan Idris University of Education was a significant event that showcased over 300 educational innovations. The fair, held from November 8th to 9th, featured participants from various categories, including lecturers, research students, undergraduate students, and school students.

The diverse range of innovations highlighted the creativity and commitment to advancing education. Notably, participants from multiple countries, including Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Japan, China, etc., contributed to the global perspective of the fair, fostering and exchange of ideas and practices in the field of education.

One standout achievement was Gomathi Bathumalai, a postgraduate student from the Translations Department at the University of Putra, Malaysia. Gomathi received a gold medal for her innovative work at the fair. Her winning contribution was the creation of the SPM poetry collection ‘Kavithai Pozhil‘ transformed into captivating story.

Gomathi’s dedication to this project is evident in the two months of tireless work she invested. She successfully designed a narrative that encapsulated all 12 poems from the SPM poetry collection, ensuring coherence and thematic unity. His approach aimed not only to preserve the essence of the poems but also to make Tamil literature more accessible and engaging for students.

By receiving the gold medal, Gomathi’s work was recognized for its significant impact on the understanding and appreciation of Tamil literature. Her expressed hope for the book to inspire interest in Tamil literature among students and potentially increase enrollment in Tamil literature courses indicates a forward-looking vision for the promotion of language and cultural studies.

In summary, the International Education Innovation Fair 2023 served as a platform for educators and students to share groundbreaking ideas and contribute to the continuous improvement of education on an international scale.
