The late renowned lawyer Gopal Sri Ram’s 10,000 collection of books has been donated by his family to the University of Malaya’s library. The library section dedicated to Gopal Sri Ram’s collections will be officially opened by PM Anwar Ibrahim next year in January.
The library’s authorities have stated that they will be properly administering and arranging the donated books for the organised accessibility of its students. The administrators even stated that there were documents that were dated as far back as the 1890s that were donated in this rich collection of resources. These texts will surely be of great and rich benefit to the students of the university, who can immerse themselves in the vast and profound study of law.
Datin Sri Chandra, the late Sri Ram Gopal’s wife, has expressed that the development of students intellect in the field of law was their foundational reason for donating so many books to the library. She stated that young law students can utilise these resources to not only sharpen their knowledge in the field but also to contribute to protecting the judiciary system in the nation.
