Renowned actor and politician, Vijayakanth, who was admitted to the hospital a few days ago for a routine check-up and subsequently tested positive for COVID-19, has sadly passed away today at the age of 71. He was the President of Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK).

This Tuesday, an official statement released by Vijayakanth’s political party, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), disclosed that the actor-politician had been admitted to the hospital for a routine health check-up.
