On January 14, 2024, Dr. Tamilmani, the visionary founder of the Malaysia Tamizhar Tanmaanam Organisation, led association members in a heartfelt tribute to the eminent Tamil poet and philosopher, Thiruvalluvar. The ceremony, held at Plantation Hall (Thotta Mahligai) in Petaling Jaya, involved the garlanding and paying of respects to Thiruvalluvar’s statue. Dr. Tamilmani emphasized to Thisaigal Malaysia that Valluvar stands as the paramount source of guidance for Tamils. He acclaimed Thirukkural, Valluvar’s intellectual masterpiece, as the sole source of inspiration and ideology befitting Tamil life. Dr. Tamilmani asserted that Pongal remains the only true cultural festival of Tamils.

The organisation’s founder further articulated that, akin to Pongal, Thirukkural boasts a non-religious origin. Both manifestations of Tamil culture trace their roots to the unconfined heritage of Tamils, free from the constraints and restraints of religion.

The event was elevated by inspiring speeches from distinguished figures, including Economic Consultant R. Masalamani and Motivational Speaker Reko Rasu. P. Govindasamy, the organization’s Secretary, set the tone with a warm welcoming speech, while K. P. Subbaiah, the Central Executive Member, extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of this significant gathering. Their collective wisdom and expressions added an extra layer of depth to the commemoration of Thiruvalluvar’s legacy.
