Penang Hindu Endowments Board Offers Financial Aid To Hindu Students

The Vice Chairman of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board, YB. Senator Dr. Lingheshwaran R. Arunasalam, has announced that the organisation is currently open for financial aid applications from Hindu students pursuing certificate courses, diplomas, or bachelor’s degrees. This initiative aims to support the educational endeavours of the Hindu community in Penang.

The Board has already approved and distributed a total of RM16,100 to 17 students who applied for financial assistance. Among these beneficiaries, 3 are pursuing certificate courses, 7 are enrolled in diploma programmes, and 7 are pursuing bachelor’s degrees. Along with Dr. Lingheshwaran, the aid was also granted to students by Dr. Vishanthini Kanasan, Kumaran Krishnan, and Dinesh Varman.

Dr. Lingheshwaran announced that a total sum of RM 376,250 was allocated and distributed to provide support for 318 Hindu students last year. This financial aid initiative underscores the commitment of the Penang Hindu Endowments Board to facilitating educational opportunities and assisting a substantial number of students within the Hindu community in their academic endeavours.

To qualify as recipients of this financial aid, students must meet specific eligibility criteria. They need to be born in Penang, and additionally, their parents must be registered voters in the state. They can send their applicantions through email via info@hebpenang.gov.my or mail it directly to Lembaga Wakaf Hindu Pulau Pinang, Tingkat 30, Komtar 10000 Pulau Pinang.
