The kumbabishegam ceremony of the Sri Maha Muneswarar Temple in Brickfields is scheduled to take place on January 21, stated the temple’s president, Thanuja. This temple, boasting a venerable history of 127 years, has undergone a noteworthy journey, initially experiencing a relocation process and presently finding its abode at Brickfields, Scott Road. This temple located next to the Sree Veera Hanuman temple, Brickfields. The ceremony itself holds profound significance in the temple’s rich and storied history, serving as a testament to its enduring legacy.
“Before my appointment, Vicky served admirably as the temple president, contributing significantly to the smooth functioning of the temple. I extend my sincere gratitude for his noteworthy leadership and valuable contributions during his tenure. Upon assuming the role of the new temple president, I took charge of the administration. Despite facing numerous challenges, we successfully completed the restoration work of the temple. This involved overcoming various obstacles, demonstrating the resilience and commitment of the temple community,” said Thanuja.
Building upon these preparations, the eagerly awaited grand kumbabishegam ceremony of the temple is scheduled for January 21st, with proceedings set to commence at 9am and conclude at 11pm. This event holds immense anticipation and is considered a prestigious occasion, drawing attention of all the devotees.
In the lead-up to the momentous ceremony, few religious rituals and ceremonies have been organized within the temple premises, starting from January 15th. Today, 19th January 2024, gold and silver will be placed on pedestals(peedam). Tomorrow(20/1/2024), the oil applying ceremony will take place. Followed by that, the grand kumbabishegam will be happening on 21st January 2024.
