Astro Vinmeen is set to dazzle audiences once again as the highly anticipated Big Stage Tamil Season 2 premieres on February 11, 2024, at 9 p.m. The local Tamil reality singing competition, which gained immense popularity with its first season, aims to continue its success by providing a platform for aspiring young vocalists to showcase their talents.
Prem Anand, Vice President of the Indian Customer Business at Astro, expressed satisfaction in offering customers season 2 of the well-liked local Tamil reality singing competition, along with upgrading the show with additional exciting features. This decision was inspired by the resounding success of Big Stage Tamil Season 1, which proved to be highly popular with the highest viewership, surpassing other original local Tamil reality singing competitions premiered on Astro. The company is optimistic that season 2 will continue to entertain viewers, and they hope customers will enjoy this new season.
This new edition promises added excitement with the introduction of renowned Malaysian music composer Jay as a mentor, promising to guide contestants in refining their vocal abilities. The panel of judges, featuring talented figures from the local music industry such as Dr. Burn, Preetha Prasad, and international icon Yugendran Vasuthevan, will also be providing valuable feedback to encourage contestants to reach new heights in their performances.

During the award presentation ceremony on February 6, 2024, at the Astro headquarters in Bukit Jalil, Prem Anand, Vice President of Indian Customer Business at Astro, and the Astro team received the prestigious Longest Thaipusam Festival Celebration Live Broadcast award from Lee Pooi Leng, an officer of The Malaysia Book of Records. Furthermore, Meena Kumari, one of the brilliant hosts of the 24-hour LIVE telecast of Thaipusam, was honoured separately with the award for Hosting the Longest Thaipusam Celebration Live Broadcast By An Individual.
