In a significant development for India-Malaysia air connectivity, AirAsia warmly welcomed its second direct route to Kerala, with the inaugural flight from Thiruvananthapuram after Kochi. The new route operates four times weekly, providing more options for travellers to explore the cultural depth and aesthetic of Kerala through its capital, Thiruvananthapuram, often proudly referred to as ‘God’s Own Country.’
In honour of the occasion, a cordial welcome was extended to passengers on flight AK8 by YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and Bo Lingam, the Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group Limited. The distribution of exclusive AirAsia goodie bags and the opportunity to capture memorable photos added to the festive atmosphere for the guests.
YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing commended AirAsia for expanding air connectivity between Malaysia and India, especially following the recent visa-free entry announcement for Indian nationals. Bo Lingam expressed delight over the successful launch of the Trivandrum to Kuala Lumpur route, emphasising AirAsia’s transformative impact on travel in India over the past 15 years.
