Inspirations for Change: Professor Dr. Saras to Deliver Keynote Address at Upcoming Women’s Day Forum

As the world anticipates International Women’s Day on March 8th, Sunway University, in collaboration with Women in Artificial Intelligence, is set to host a groundbreaking event on March 6th, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sunway University, JC 3, Level 1. The theme, “Count Her In: Invest in Her, Accelerate Progress,” underscores the significance of inclusivity and collaborative efforts in advancing women’s rights and opportunities. The event promises a dynamic experience, with sessions designed to inspire, educate, and foster discussions on women’s economic empowerment and leadership development.

Professor Dr. Saras D. Sarasvathy, a distinguished academic and global expert in strategy, entrepreneurship, and ethics, will deliver a captivating special keynote address at this forum. Holding degrees from the University of Bombay, India (B.Com.) and Carnegie Mellon University (MSIA, Ph.D.), Professor Sarasvathy contributions extend globally, as she teaches MBA and doctoral courses in entrepreneurship at Darden, influencing students internationally.

Notably, Professor Sarasvathy has received the prestigious 2022 Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research, the highest recognition in entrepreneurship research, bestowed by the Swedish Entrepreneurship Forum and the Research Institute of Industrial Economics. Furthermore, she has also been an honoured recipient of the Legacy Impact Award from the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centres.

The subsequent panel discussions are expected to be a highlight, facilitating thought-provoking conversations on collective investment in women’s economic empowerment. Dr. Geetha Nadarajan, an esteemed data science practitioner with over 15 years of experience, will be a featured panellist, sharing insights from her extensive career in telecommunications, finance, and education.
