In an interview with Varnam Malaysia, Shabby said:
“I would like to express my profound gratitude to everyone who has been instrumental in my journey. My fans, friends, Lane Ventures team, family, and above all, my life partner, Debhasri, have been my pillars of strength. There was a time when I contemplated ending my career with short films. I felt uncertain about my talent and abilities. I have worked short films like “Gun In Shadows” produced by Lane Ventures. The struggles were real, and self-doubt crept in. But it was the unwavering support and encouragement from my Lane Ventures team and Debha that kept me going.
Their belief in me, even when I doubted myself, gave me the courage to pursue my dreams. Debha, especially, has been my rock from the very beginning. Her admiration for my acting, her constant words of encouragement, and her unwavering support fueled my determination. Her presence, her belief in me, has been my driving force. I can’t thank her enough for being by my side, for accompanying me on this journey to Chennai, and for being my biggest cheerleader. Her support means everything to me, and I’m forever grateful for her unwavering belief in me.”
When questioned about how Shabby came across the opportunity to debut in Kollywood, he revealed that it all began with a call from an assistant director several months prior. After initial discussions, they proceeded to finalize the necessary paperwork. Now, with preparations complete, the shoot has officially commenced.
Shabby is anticipated to portray a police officer role in his upcoming venture in Kollywood. Given his track record of delivering exceptional performances in all his roles, audiences can expect to witness a charismatic and stylish portrayal of a law enforcement officer on the silver screen this time around. When queried about his experience thus far, Shabby disclosed that the shoot is currently in its early stages, with the first schedule underway.
In preparation for the role, Shabby is diligently working on crafting a new look as per the requirements of the film. Additionally, he is dedicatedly sculpting his physique to embody the character effectively. With his unwavering commitment and hard work invested in the project, Shabby’s performance is bound to captivate audiences when the film hits the screens soon.
The release date of the movie remains unconfirmed at present. Given the presence of numerous cast members, the timing of the shoot is being thoughtfully coordinated to accommodate everyone’s schedules. Currently, the film is progressing through its initial shooting schedule. Once the shoot concludes, the confirmed release date for the movie will be announced.
When asked about Shabby’s feelings regarding his Kollywood debut, he said that,
“I’m truly blessed and grateful. It’s an incredible opportunity, but it also comes with a sense of responsibility. I know I have to give it my all for my family and fans who’ve supported me along the way. Their love and encouragement mean everything to me, and I’m determined to repay their faith in me through my performance.
For me, this debut isn’t just about acting in a Kollywood movie; it’s about representing the Malaysian Indian community and making them proud. I feel a deep sense of duty to show the world what we’re capable of. Furthermore, numerous young and passionate individuals entertain concerns about their ability to endure in the cinema industry. Our films often encounter hurdles in securing successful theatrical runs and generating substantial collections. Witnessing someone else triumph in the same field can serve as a source of inspiration for those who feel disheartened and on the verge of giving up. I aspire to be a motivation for these individuals, encouraging them to persevere in pursuing their aspirations.
I’ve been through my fair share of struggles, but each one has only made me stronger and more determined to succeed. I’m grateful for the challenges I’ve faced because they’ve pushed me to grow and evolve. Instead of letting setbacks hold me back, I’ve used them as motivation to strive for more. I want to show others that no matter how tough things get, it’s possible to overcome obstacles and achieve your dreams.”
The affection that Shabby holds for his supporters and the Malaysian Indian community is genuinely captivating. Malaysian Indians should take pride in having such a talented artist in the Malaysian Tamil cinema industry. As Shabby ascends to greater heights within the industry, he remains grounded, displaying humility and gratitude. This mindset of his is sure to propel him even further towards success.
Shabby currently has four more upcoming projects in the pipeline. Additionally, he mentioned his willingness to continue acting in series, short films, or even music videos if the opportunity arises. Updates regarding these projects will be announced soon.
As I always say, my goal is to continue entertaining people, regardless where I am. I have no limitations within the entertainment industry. That’s where my happiness lies!

What is your perspective on the potential of the Malaysian Tamil cinema industry gaining international recognition and being acknowledged by the Kollywood industry?
From my perspective, the Malaysian Tamil cinema industry holds significant potential, boasting a pool of talented artists. However, there are areas in which we must strive to improve to foster growth collectively. One crucial aspect is shifting away from an emphasis on box office collections and refraining from blaming the public for not supporting Malaysian films. Audiences are discerning and choose films based on merit. Quality productions that excel in storytelling, music, and acting are bound to receive recognition.
It’s essential for every member of a film team to dedicate their utmost effort to creating a compelling movie. Collaboration within the team is key to achieving this. Rather than assigning blame, it’s crucial to acknowledge our shortcomings, learn from them, and strive for improvement in future projects. Moreover, recognition should extend beyond actors to include the diligent individuals working behind the scenes, whose contributions are integral to the film’s success. Acknowledging and supporting every individual involved in a film will drive progress within the Malaysian Tamil cinema industry. While we’ve already made strides on the global stage, continued enhancements will propel us even further. This is my personal viewpoint on the matter.
As Shabby steps onto the grand stage of Kollywood, he brings with him not just his talent, but also the rich cultural heritage and diverse influences of his Malaysian upbringing. This demonstrates that the Malaysian Tamil cinema industry has the potential to nurture artists capable of performing in Kollywood as well. Shabby’s ascent serves as a testament to the boundless possibilities that await those who dare to dream and relentlessly pursue their passion.
In celebrating Shabby’s achievement, we not only honor his talent but also recognize the collaborative spirit that transcends borders and unites artistic communities across continents. His journey serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration for aspiring artists everywhere, reminding us that with talent, perseverance, and a touch of destiny, dreams can indeed take flight, transcending geographical boundaries to touch the hearts and souls of audiences around the world.
