AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva Set to Reunite After 24 Years

Renowned composer AR Rahman and multifaceted artist Prabhu Deva are reuniting for a film project, marking a nostalgic return to their iconic collaboration from the 1990s. After a hiatus of 24 years, the dynamic duo is set to once again join forces, evoking a sense of anticipation and excitement among fans and cinephiles alike.

AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva previously collaborated on several successful films during the 1990s, including “Kadhalan,” “Mr. Romeo,” “Love Birds,” and “Minsara Kanavu,” where Prabhu Deva showcased his talents as a lead actor. Additionally, Prabhu Deva made memorable appearances as a dancer in special numbers, such as in “Gentleman,” particularly the hit track “Chikku Bukku Rayile,” which quickly climbed the charts and became immensely popular.

Regarding the reunion of the duo, Manoj NS, the director of the upcoming untitled film, expresses, “We share a strong rapport with both AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva.”

The director expressed their vision for the film, emphasizing the desire to create a project that brings joy to audiences. They elaborated on the concept, describing it as a light-hearted comedy filled with vibrant musical numbers and dance sequences. Drawing inspiration from iconic films like Shankar’s “Kadhalan” and Rajiv Menon’s “Minsara Kanavu,” the director aims to offer a memorable cinematic experience. Additionally, they highlighted the significance of celebrating the immense talents of AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva, recognizing them as two of India’s most esteemed artists.

Upon being approached by the director, both AR Rahman and Prabhu Deva expressed immense enthusiasm about reuniting for the project and were excited about the film’s concept. Joining them in the cast are Malayalam actors Aju Varghese and Ajun Ashokan, along with Tamil comedian Yogi Babu, further adding to the ensemble of talent in the upcoming film.
