‘Thangalaan,’ the highly anticipated film directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, is gearing up for a grand release this year. In a recent interview, Studio Green’s CEO, Dhananjeyan, provided exciting updates about the film’s release schedule.
Dhananjeyan mentioned that ‘Thangalaan’ is planning for a June 2024 release, with an official announcement to be made in a few days. He added that full-fledged promotions are set to begin at the end of this month, with a detailed schedule for the promotional tour already shared with Chiyaan Vikram. The promotional tour will cover many cities and include international stops to maximise the film’s reach.
The film stars Chiyaan Vikram, who is currently busy filming director SU Arunkumar’s ‘Veera Dheera Sooran’. Despite his busy schedule, Vikram is set to join the extensive promotional tour for ‘Thangalaan,’ which will span multiple cities and international locations.
‘Thangalaan’ is perhaps one of Pa. Ranjith’s most ambitious projects yet, one that is an amalgamation of historical truths and mysticisms about the Tamil Dalit labourers who had migrated from Tamil Nadu to work in the Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka. Set against the historical backdrop of these laborers’ anti-colonial struggle against British imperialists, the film features an impressive cast including Chiyaan Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Daniel Caltigarone, Pasupathy, and Harikrishnan. The music is composed by G. V. Prakash.
