In a remarkable achievement for Tamil cinema, the movie “Parking” has found a special place in the Permanent Core Collections of the Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. This honor signifies the film’s screenplay being recognized and archived alongside some of the most esteemed works in global cinema.
Yesterday, Actor Harish Kalyan took to social media by announcing that his starring film Parking had been added to the Academy’s Library. The screenplay of the film is sent to the Oscar’s Library Core Collection for further study.
Actor Harish Kalyan, the film’s lead shared his excitement on social media, by posting a picture of the screenplay being sent to the Oscar’s Library Core Collection for further study. The actor has expressed his joy by saying,
“A good film will always find its special place”.
Oru Nalla Kadhai Adhukanna Edatha Thaney Thedi Pogum,” he commented, expressing his gratitude for the journey and thanking his team for their support.
The mail sent by The Academy’s was to the film’s producer K.S Sinish. He shared the news on his twitter and wrote,
Really we don’t know how big of a moment this is! But so delighted to receive this mail from The Academy and honoured to have the screenplay of our #Parking along side many of the greatest works at the scripts library of the #Oscars

“Parking,” released in 2023, is a small-budget domestic drama directed and written by Ramkumar Balakrishnan. Harish Kalyan plays the male lead along with Induja Ravichandran and MS Baskar. The music was composed by Sam C.S and Produced by K.S Sinish and Sudhan Sundaram.
When Parking was released, the film received applause and praise for the plot.

The Film’s Plot
The film plot revolves around Eshwar a IT Professional moves to a new house in a populated neighborhood in Chennai with his pregnant wife. But conflict arises as Eshwar and his neighbor Ilamparuthi fights over a parking spot. The narrative highlights the issues arising from poor urban planning, which leaves residents scrambling for parking space, leading to tensions and arguments. The jealousy, hate and arguments lead the two neighbors face consequences.
