For the first time, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has opened up about his grief over the loss of his sister, singer Bhavatharini. He shared the emotional circumstances under which he composed ‘Chinna Chinna Kangal’ for the Vijay-starrer GOAT, which was released yesterday in conjunction with Vijay’s birthday.
The song features vocals by Vijay and the late singer Bhavatharini. Yuvan employed AI technology to incorporate his sister Bhavatharini’s voice into ‘Chinna Chinna Kangal’. This melodious track has touched the hearts of many. Yuvan shared his memories on his X platform about recording his sister’s voice using AI. He revealed that during the song’s composition in Bengaluru, he and Venkat Prabhu believed Bhavatharini would be the perfect choice for the track, even while she was hospitalized. Tragically, just an hour later, Yuvan received the news of Bhavatharini’s passing.
Yuvan expressed that he never imagined he would have to recreate his sister’s voice using AI technology. He mentioned that the song holds a special place in his heart, making its creation a bittersweet experience for him. The poignant lyrics of the song were crafted by Kabilan Vairamuthu.
