Tamil actor Soori, known for his comedy roles has made a successful transition to lead roles, delivering a massive hit with the film ‘Viduthalai’. Continuing the success, his recent village drama “Garudan” has set the cash registers ringing, grossing over 50 crores worldwide and becoming one of Tamil cinema’s biggest hits of 2024.

OTT Release Details
Following its theatrical success, Garudan is now gearing up for its digital release. The post-theatrical OTT rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video. While an official announcement from the OTT platform is awaited, the film is tentatively set to be available for streaming from June 28. However, due to its ongoing success in theatres, the release date might be postponed to July.

Garudan is a rural entertainer with a compelling story penned by star director Vetrimaaran. Directed by R.S. Durai Senthilkumar, the film features a talented cast, including M. Sasikumar, Unni Mukundan , Roshini Haripriyan and Soori in significant roles. The movie is jointly produced by Grass Root Film Company and K. Kumar’s Lark Studio, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
The film revolves around friendship, betrayal and rage. The story revolves around Karuna and Aadhi, two childhood friends who has a significant authority over a temple and it’s surroundings. The both of them are protected by Sokkan who is Karuna’s loyalist. He ensures Karuna is protected at any cost. However, things change between their friendship when one of them turns undergoes a change of heart which leads to a tale of betrayal, rage and intense action.
