AirAsia System Upgrade – Guests Advised to Self Check-In Up to 14 Days Ahead

AirAsia has revealed plans to upgrade its reservation and passenger-processing systems, aiming to improve the overall travel and booking experience. This scheduled maintenance will take place over an 8-hour period, starting at 7:00 pm (GMT+8) on July 10, 2024, and concluding at 3:00 am (GMT+8) on July 11, 2024. The upgrade is expected to enhance the efficiency and functionality of the airline’s systems, ensuring a smoother and more user-friendly experience for customers.

Throughout this period, the airline recommends that all passengers take the following measures to ensure a hassle-free travel experience:

1. Self Check-In 14 Days Ahead:
All passengers, including those with group bookings and connecting flights on July 10 and 11, 2024, are highly advised to complete their self check-in using the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as the airasia Superapp), which is currently accessible or can be used up to 14 days prior to their scheduled departure.

2. Arrive Early:

All passengers, particularly those with group bookings, reduced mobility, and special needs, are required to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure to complete all travel formalities. Due to the system upgrade, counter and kiosk check-in, as well as baggage drop services, will be affected at all airports where AirAsia operates.

3. Use E-Boarding Pass:

Download your e-Boarding Pass from the AirAsia MOVE app and save it on your digital wallet or mobile phone. This will provide a smoother boarding experience, eliminating the need to reprint it at the airport.

4. Update Contact Details:

Passengers traveling during the upgrade period will receive notifications via email and SMS. Please make sure your contact information is current to get the latest updates on your AirAsia flight status.

During this time, AirAsia flight bookings, managing bookings, check-in, Flight+Hotel bookings, AirAsia Rewards points issuance and redemption, payment processing for existing bookings, and ancillary purchases, including online duty-free, will be unavailable. All other services on the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly known as the airasia Superapp) and airasia.com, such as non-AirAsia flight-related services, will not be affected.

AirAsia’s scheduled system upgrade is designed to improve the travel and booking experience for its customers. Passengers can ensure a smooth journey by completing self check-in in advance, arriving early at the airport, using e-Boarding Passes, and keeping their contact details updated. While some services will be temporarily unavailable during the upgrade, these enhancements will lead to a more efficient and user-friendly experience for all travelers.
